Medical treatment in Malaysia, made simpler.

Find the right hospital, stay, and flight — all in a single conversation.

DoMedTravel is a platform for Indonesian patients seeking treatment in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Malacca, and Johor Bahru. Services available in Bahasa Indonesia and English via WhatsApp by an experienced team.

A patient journey

How it works

Three steps. The conversation starts on WhatsApp; the trip is built around your treatment needs.

  1. 01

    Tell us your condition

Send us a message with your diagnosis or symptoms, your city, and roughly when you want to travel. Attach a photo of a prior medical report if you have one (e.g. a referral letter from a hospital in Indonesia).

  2. 02

    We plan your medical trip

Within a working day, you receive a shortlist of two or three hospitals, indicative consult fees in MYR and IDR, suggested neighborhoods to stay in, and flight options that match your treatment dates.

  3. 03

We accompany you from airport to hotel/hospital

From the WhatsApp message to the hospital lobby. Airport pickup, an Indonesian-speaking liaison on the ground, and a single point of contact through follow-up appointments.

Where patients travel

Featured destinations

Four Malaysian states, each with its own medical strengths. We work with hospital partners in all of them; the right one depends on your condition and where you are travelling from.

We assist you in connecting with, registering for, and scheduling appointments at your preferred partner hospital in Malaysia.

  1. Kuala Lumpur

    Ideal for Patients from Jakarta

    Cardiology, oncology, neurology

Malaysia's leading hub for advanced healthcare, with the country's highest concentration of specialist hospitals. Direct flights from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) take approximately 2 hours, with most major hospitals reachable within 45–60 minutes from the airport. Kuala Lumpur is ideal for patients seeking comprehensive treatment, specialist consultations, and longer recovery stays near leading medical centres.

    Hospital partners

    • Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur
    • Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur
    • Sunway Medical Centre
  2. Penang

    Popular for Patients from Medan

    Orthopedics, fertility, general surgery

A preferred destination for Medan patients thanks to its short direct flights, trusted hospitals, and lower recovery costs compared to Kuala Lumpur. Flights from Kualanamu International Airport (KNO) to Penang International Airport (PEN) take approximately 1 hour, while most specialist hospitals are located just 25–35 minutes from the airport — making travel, follow-up visits, and recovery transfers especially convenient for patients and families.

    Hospital partners

    • Island Hospital Penang
    • Gleneagles Penang
    • Loh Guan Lye Specialists Centre
  3. Johor Bahru

    Best for Patients from Batam

    Diagnostics, dental, day procedures

Perfect for short medical trips from Batam, with convenient ferry access via Batam Centre Ferry Terminal to Singapore, followed by a short land transfer into Johor Bahru. Patients may also fly from Hang Nadim International Airport (BTH) to Senai International Airport (JHB) in approximately 1.5 hours. Most specialist hospitals are within 30–45 minutes from ferry terminals and the airport, making Johor Bahru especially suitable for health screenings, dental care, and day procedures with minimal travel fatigue.

    Hospital partners

    • Gleneagles Hospital Medini
    • KPJ Johor Specialist Hospital
    • Regency Specialist Hospital
  4. Malacca

Convenient for Patients from Pekanbaru & Dumai

    General healthcare, wellness, recovery

Known for its calmer pace and heritage charm, Malacca is ideal for patients from Pekanbaru and Dumai seeking a quieter medical journey. Patients from Dumai can travel directly via ferry from Dumai Port to Melaka International Ferry Terminal in approximately 2–2.5 hours. Patients from Pekanbaru commonly fly from Sultan Syarif Kasim II International Airport (PKU) to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) in around 1 hour, followed by a comfortable highway transfer to Malacca.

What we coordinate

What is included

A single coordinator handles treatment booking, accommodation near the hospital, return flights, airport pickup, and an Indonesian-speaking liaison on the ground. We do not mark up hospital fees; you see the same MYR consultation price the hospital quotes any patient.

Not included

Visa fees, travel insurance premiums, and personal expenses. We only assist with coordination.

Founded in Malaysia. Working with hospital partners across Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru, and Malacca. Bahasa Indonesia and English. WhatsApp first.

Before you ask us

Questions patients ask

  • How much does this cost?

It depends on the treatment, the hospital, and the length of stay. Hospital consultations in Kuala Lumpur typically start from MYR 200 (around IDR 700,000). We share indicative figures in MYR and IDR with every shortlist, before you commit to anything.

  • Do you handle visas?

Indonesian passport holders do not need a visa for short medical visits to Malaysia. For longer stays or follow-up treatment, we walk you through the medical-visit pass process and help prepare the hospital letter.

  • What if something goes wrong during treatment?

You will be connected with one of our team members who can be reached via WhatsApp throughout the trip. For clinical issues, the hospital handles your care; we will help coordinate with them, your family, and second-opinion matters if needed. Travel insurance with medical coverage is strongly recommended, and we can help compare available insurance options.

  • Can my family travel with me?

Yes. Most of our shortlists are built to accommodate two or three people. We will help arrange family rooms, apartments with enough beds, and meals near the hospital.

  • How are payments handled?

You pay the hospital directly for treatment, in Ringgit Malaysia — usually by debit or credit card at the hospital cashier. For accommodation and flights, you can pay via card or inter-bank transfer; we will send you the booking links. During our Beta Program, all coordination services are free. We also help with collecting documents for insurance claims.

  • I cannot speak English. Is that a problem?

Not at all. The entire process can run in Bahasa Indonesia, from the first WhatsApp message through to accompanying you at the hospital. Most of our hospital partners also have Indonesian-speaking patient relations staff.

  • Is my information private?

Medical reports stay between you, the receiving hospital, and your assigned coordinator. We do not share patient details with third-party advertisers. We only store data necessary for travel coordination, and you can ask us to delete it after your treatment journey is complete.
